The Monstrous Duke's Adopted Daughter is cute and a little funny with events and choices surrounding the female lead's very powerful ability tied with a thousand year-long cruel family tradition. The two stories are different from each other enough to give many readers reason to read which ever story they have not yet. How their stories will grow as the characters get older and/or as events pass is where the elements of interest will keep you invested in their future or not. What unites my recommendation of these two stories is how wonderfully the two female leads are treated and protected as they are brought out of their cruel situations into their new families. They influence the position and behavior of the female lead's families, those surrounding them, and the female leads themselves. Positions of political power against a royal or imperial house are factors in both stories too. Both come from a cruel childhood but are brought into families that are very kind and caring of them despite being known as monsterous and cold families.
